After South Waziristan, Army may target North Waziristan too: Pak Defence Minister
Lahore, Nov.6 (ANI): Pakistan Defence Minister Ahmad Mukhtar has said that once it flushes out the extremists from South Waziristan, the military may launch an offensive in North Waziristan too.
Speaking on a private television channel during a programme, Mukhtar said the troops have advanced deep into the Taliban’s stronghold during the Operation Rah-e-Nijat and that they would soon declare victory in the troubled tribal region.
Responding to a query regarding India’s alleged involvement in terror activities inside Pakistan, he claimed that New Delhi’s hand in the Waziristan resistance has been proved.
Muskhtar also supported Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Kayani’s reservations over the controversial Kerry-Lugar bill, saying his objections were justified.
“Americans should have used soft language in the bill,” The Daily Times quoted Mukhtar, as saying. (ANI)
