Chavez calls on citizens to prepare for war
Caracas, Nov 9 (EFE) Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has called on citizens to prepare for war after Colombia rejected his appeal to remove the US military bases from its territory that Venezuela believe is a threat to the country.
‘Let them not make a mistake, because we are ready for anything,’ the Venezuelan leader said, rejecting an offer by Brazil to arrange a meeting between Chavez and his Colombian counterpart Alvaro Uribe to settle the issue.
‘One must speak with love and therefore I say to (US) president (Barack) Obama: don’t make a mistake and order an open attack on Venezuela using Colombia,’ Chavez said in the television programme Alo Presidente Sunday. Chavez also ordered the military to prepare for war.
‘This world is infected by the virus of the terrible disease of violence by the most powerful against the weakest,’ he said.
