IGNOU to organise summit on higher education
New Delhi, Dec 8 (IANS) The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will organise a summit here Saturday to highlight the opportunities offered in India in the field of higher education.
The education summit on Marketing of India’s Higher Education Worldwide: Revisited will be organised in collaboration with the Institute of Marketing and Management.
‘The objective of the summit is to focus on opportunities available in the sector of higher education in India, especially in the field of engineering and technology, IT and management, tourism and hospitality, and agriculture and how these opportunities can be harnessed by students of south Asia, central Asia, middle-east, Africa and Central America,’ an IGNOU official said.
‘The summit will also focus on how students can pursue higher education in these fields at an affordable cost in comparison to the rest of the world,’ the official added.
Shashi Tharoor, minister of state for external affairs, will be the chief guest at the summit.
