Lamps thanks Arsenal’s fans for booing Chelsea’s Cole
London, Dec.1 (ANI): Frank Lampard has thanked Arsenal’s fans for abusing Chelsea’s Ashley Cole.
Cole, who quit the Gunners for Chelsea in 2006, was booed every time he touched the ball during his side’s 3-0 win at the Emirates.
But the constant barracking spurred on the left back to create Chelsea’s opening two goals with pinpoint crosses.
Lampard said he was was delighted to see Cole silence the Gunners faithful with a dazzling display.
The Sun quoted the England midfielder, as saying: “I don’t think booing ever works. I don’t know when people will learn that it’s not the way to do it. I think the best thing is to stay quiet, watch the game and cheer on your own team.”
“Ash is very experienced with dealing with it – he’s had it a few times now and it obviously spurs him on to put in performances like he did,” he added. (ANI)
