Pak wants world to stop India’s ‘intervention in Pakistan through Afghanistan’

Islamabad, Oct.15 (ANI): Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has urged the international community to stop India’s increasing interference in Afghanistan and Pakistan to establish peace in the region.

Interacting with mediapersons outside the Parliament House in Islamabad, Malik said the world must take notice of New Delhi’s growing intervention in Afghanistan and Pakistan and ask it stop meddling with issues concerning the two troubled nations.

“India is increasing its intervention in Pakistan through Afghanistan. Pakistan-Afghanistan border must be sealed and international community must help stop Indian intervention,” The News quoted Malik, as saying.

He said even though Islamabad has been often referred to as a close ally by world powers, it has gained nothing by assisting the foreign countries in their struggle.

“We gained nothing from playing close-ally role in the war on terror. After Afghanistan-Russian war, we received millions of Afghan refugees still staying in the country. After 9/11, we got suicide attacks in our country,” he said.

Responding to a question, Malik rejected the notion that the Taliban leadership, including Mulla Omer and Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden were present in Quetta.

“Today, I categorically reject the statement that the Taliban leadership, including Osama Bin Laden and Mulla Omer, are present in our area. Talks about Quetta Shura are totally baseless,” he said. (ANI)
