Rat holds up Air India flight to Riyadh

Kozhikode (Kerala), Oct 4 (IANS) A rat has possibly done it, again. An Air India flight to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia was held up here Sunday, possibly due to a rat in the aircraft. But an airline official blamed the delay on a technical snag, and said a replacement flight will be made available soon.

‘The rat incident has not been declared officially. But the aircraft that was to depart at 2.05 p.m. has not taken off due to a technical problem,’ Air India station manager Yogesh Mundwa told IANS here.

‘Our Mumbai office has now got another aircraft ready and we are looking for crew and cabin staff. Once that is done, the plane will come and pick up the passengers from here,’ Mundwa said.

In a similar incident, a rat aboard had delayed an Air India flight from Amritsar to London Sep 25.
