Shillong, Oct 22(ANI): Hundreds of car and bike enthusiasts from Meghalaya recently got an opportunity to witness a rally during which vintage cars and bikes, including, Classic Morris, Studebaker, Beetle, Fords, Land Rovers and Jawa bikes were displayed.
The rally, which had 18 vintage cars and bikes, was held in Shillong and was organized by Antique Wheels of North East.
“This year, it is more like a people’s gathering where it was not formal, very informal, basically everyone just got together. We have 18 cars in all,” said Ashok Lyngdoh, an organizer and participant.
Spectators were excited to see vintage vehicles from the Northeast on one platform.
“As we know that old is gold, this is where we can see the beauties of the old age time, so the love of this vehicles gets renewed. You can take a look around at all this jeep, American jeeps, the minors, and the java motorcycle of 1968,” said Vicky, a spectator.
“It is good that some people are restoring these vehicles. So, I hope this goes on,” he added.
It is hoped that such events will help in creating greater enthusiasm among the people for preserving these antique cars and bikes. By D. Henpilen (ANI)
