Tata Steel net drops 49.5 percent in second quarter

Mumbai, Oct 27 (IANS) Tata Steel Tuesday said its net profit for the quarter ended Sep 30 had dropped 49.5 percent to Rs.902.94 crore over the like period last fiscal.

Total income of the company stood at Rs.5,692.11 crore in the second quarter, a drop of 16.45 percent from Rs.6,813.45 crore it logged in the corresponding quarter last year.

Earnings per share stood at Rs.10.89 per share, down from Rs.24.03 per share in the year-ago period.
