UAE holds Israel accountable over failure of peace talks

New York, Dec 2 (IANS) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has held Israel accountable for the failure of the Middle East peace process, WAM news agency reported Wednesday.

Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman, UAE’s permanent representative to the UN, said here Tuesday at a special meeting of the UN General Assembly, that the international community was aware of 61 years of the Palestinian people’s suffering and deprivation due to the Israeli occupation.

He added that half of the Palestinian population lives in exile as refugees.

Al Jarman said the UAE is worried about continuous deterioration of living conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem. He added that the UAE condemns the Israeli policies and aggression, adding that Israel has so far escaped from punishment for its war crimes.
