Varsity student is Mexico’s nominee for Miss Universe
Mexico City, Sep 22 (EFE) Jimena Navarrete Rosete, a university student, will represent Mexico at the Miss Universe pageant in 2010, a media report said.
Navarrete, 21, a second year student of bachelor’s in nutrition, was selected Sunday night after winning the Nuestra Belleza Mexico contest 2009, television network Televisa said Monday.
In the same ceremony, Anabel Solis Sosa was crowned Nuestra Belleza Mundo Mexico 2009, a triumph that will allow her to represent Mexico at the Miss World contest 2010.
Solis, 21, is studying in second year of a bachelor’s degree in communications.
The gala competition featured performances by singers Alexander Acha and Ana Barbara, as well as by the group Telefunka.
